Passionate About Inspiring Others

Reducing your life experiences into a few sentences is always hard, so I won't try. What I can do is share what has made an impact on my life and shaped my perspective.

Background - My Roots

I come from a coastal town in the Gulf of Mexico, called Coatzacoalcos. My childhood was very active, full of sports (mainly tennis - although I had a soccer stage earlier), friends that are close to me to this day, and family memories that still provoke me to laugh and cry. I am from a Spanish/Mexican heritage with a bit of Cuban and Scottish somewhere in there, so food, community, and traveling are in my DNA. One curious common thread between my grandfather, my dad, and myself, is that each of us has had to leave our hometowns/countries at some point and start from scratch. Maybe this is the reason I have my family close to me on every step I take.

GROWING & LEARNING

I came for college to the US with a tennis scholarship and had a good run. I still carry a lot with me today from those tennis days. I eventually moved to Boston to pursue my MBA and MSF at Bentley a few months after the 2008 financial crisis. Best timing honestly. During this time, I also founded an agricultural consulting project in Accra, Ghana, and Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, which eventually failed. I spent 2 years researching and implementing the project with mixed results due to many factors, but primarily because I made the wrong decisions and didn't know what I didn't know. Some would say we helped many; I think we could have done way more. Either way, the experience of a lifetime at that point. I carry a part of that era with me in everything I do.

SOME OF MY Professional legacy

I had the opportunity to join a growing wealth management firm in Boston after graduate school and led the restructuring of their operations, technology, and marketing from the ground up. I also became a member of their executive team before turning 29. Throughout all of it, I always had one mantra: how can we create the most impactful value for all with the tools we have available?  During my time there I was able to create, innovate, learn and change many things that, in the finance industry, were considered iron walls. The challenges and lessons learned during this period gave me a new perspective on entrepreneurship and the positive impact we all can have in our communities and the environment. I have since consulted dozens of firms on different growth initiatives and helped them throughout the implementation - which is in my perspective, what matters the most.

MY  BELIEFS

On a personal note, I strongly believe in grassroots movements, policy influence, and our responsibility to give a voice to those who don't have the privilege to get theirs heard. I advocate and fight to eliminate inequality at all levels, combat climate change, promote women's empowerment, and eliminate systematic discrimination and racism. I bring these core beliefs to all my work.

I love to travel and be present in the places I visit, from the Arctic to Africa. I love to create transformational experiences and create communities of change within organizations.

I reside in the Boston area with my partner Amanda and our dog Charlie. I still play tennis and lately have become addicted to climbing. You never know, maybe one day I'll be able to climb El Cap.
